Going from a dry toasty apartment to the freezing cold can cause some major damage to the skin. This winter in particular has been a brutal one for my lips. I am constantly finding myself lathering on the balm. I’ve been bouncing back and forth with my balm usage and I wanted to share with you my top 3 picks.
Rose Bud Slave ($8 CDN). This 1892 pink ointment is the best all purpose slave. Not only do I use it on my chapped lips, I use it on my cuticles, elbows as well as my heels! The light rose scent is not over baring and the balm does not leave a greasy residue after use! Available at Beautymark.
Benefit Lipscription ($45 CDN). This comes in a set with a lip balm and a lip exfoliant. The exfoliant is a cream base with micro-beads. You gently rub the ointment on your lips and simply wash off with a warm wet towel. Apply the lip balm after to seal! Available at the Bay some Shoppers Drug Marts.
Carmex Lip Balm ($2 CDN). I say, soft lips are just more kissable. Carmex original lip balm has been around since 1937 and it restores the moisture that wind and dry, cold air can suck right out of your lips. It’s ultra moisturizing and it’s great for cold sores and fever blisters as well. It also leaves your lips with a zingy minty feeling….basically it feels like it’s working! You can find it at most local drug stores.
