The little sister to the award winning Fuel Restaurant has finally arrived; and her name is Campagnolo.
Campagnolo translates to ‘Rustic Country’; and that’s exactly the type of food that they serve up. Inspired by the Piedmont and Emiglia-Romagna regions of Italy, the dishes here are simple, pure and always perfectly prepared.
Here are my choices for a savory date night-
Antipasti:
Start with a selection of the house made meats from the Salumi platter and an order of the flash fried Crispy Ceci with peperoncini, mint and citrus.
Primi:
Move into the realm of pasta with a Fungi Crimini Pizza with pancetta and sage and an order of the Potato Agnolotti in a mascarpone-chive cream sauce.
Secondi:
Mix up your proteins with the Alberta Flat Iron steak and the Garlic and Chive Ling Cod.
Finally, no meal at Campagnolo is complete without a side of soft polenta with fontina cheese. This dish is the ultimate in Italian comfort food and an absolute must try!
Then, if you still have room for desert … all I can say is… Panna Cotta with Vanilla Citrus and Hazelnut! To be honest, the last time we were at Campagnolo we unapologetically ordered and ate all four deserts. But if I had to limit myself to just one, it would have to be the Panna Cotta. This desert is fresh, soothing and a perfect palette cleanser after such a hearty meal.
So if it’s unpretentious, rustic Italian dining you’re craving, look no further. This entire meal cost just over $100 and guarantees to fill your stomach without emptying your wallet.
