Sweet lord, where have I been? Vanilla ice cream with espresso, two of my most favourite things, combined together makes a frothy, sweet, yummy treat called an Affogato.
This classic Italian dessert combines frosty, sweet ice cream with robust, piping hot espresso. It’s sophisticated, dramatic and absolutely irresistible - and very easy to prepare. Such a great way to enjoy ice cream as an adult.
Ingredients:
2 scoops of vanilla ice cream (gelato preferred).
1/4-1/2 cup of hot espresso or strong black coffee.
Directions:
1. Please the ice cream (make sure it’s good quality, it makes a difference) into a glass or individual serving bowl / cup.
2. Pour the espresso slowly over the ice cream and serve immediately.
