Mac & Cheese: for some the ultimate comfort food, for others reminiscent of childhood but macbar is not for kids. It’s mac & cheese for adults!The sister restaurant to Delicatessen, this little yellow joint makes me smile the minute I step in. Modern and well organized in a small space, this take-out joint is VERY yellow but in a cute, happy kind of way. Great for takeouts, quickie lunches and late night suppers.

Their menu is fairly extensive, filled with varieties of mac & cheese combinations, a far cry from the instant Kraft kind. I went with mac ‘shroom ($9.99) - roasted “magic” mushrooms, fontina, mascarpone & truffled essence. My girlfriend had the mayan chipotle ($9.50)- chicken Diablo, Chihuahua cheese & green onions. We both ordered the medium, which comes in cute, yellow, elbow macaroni lunchboxes.  I’m a sucker for packaging and anything baked with cheese, macbar hit the spot!

With a selection of condiments to add a little kick to your mac & cheese, this place takes cheesy baked goodness up to the next level! YUM!
