I practiced Chinese watercolor art when I was a little girl and I recently found out how much I missed painting. Nestled in the heart of Yaletown, Raw Canvas Art and Social is a ’soul-driven’ company that supports the cultivation of the artist within.
With a warm and inviting semi-Victorian (but a hippy at heart) atmosphere, it’s easy to feel comfortable instantly. You walk in, purchase a canvas of various sizes and away you go. Your smock, all paints and tools are supplied for you. As a hobbiest or professional painter, you can paint at ease and let your creativity flow.
They also offer great coffee, with an ethical menu, serving wines from Farmstead and local meat and cheese pairings. They have a lot going on each month so it’s best to check on their calender for upcoming events. Every Tuesday for the month of October it’s open mic night and a poetry jam being held on October 21. All of which are there to aid you igniting your creative juices.
