The first free standing Joe Fresh retail store landed in Vancouver October 13, 2010. The design of the store is classically modern, simple and clean. It spans 14,000 square feet over 2 floors and is conveniently located in the centre of downtown shopping nestled in between Holt Renfrew, The Bay and H&M.

The entire first floor is dedicated to ladies with a very small section for men on the second floor along with active wear and sleep wear. Even though the menswear selection seemed to be more of an after thought, I was reassured by Joe staff that their intentions are to have a much fuller men’s section and maybe even kids in the near future.

I joined in on the festivities at their VIP opening party. It was a mixed room of media personalities like Rebecca Tay of Fashion Magazine, Lisa Tant of Flare, Adrian Mainella host of Fashion File along side local fashion bloggers and other industry influencers. Joe Mimran attended that evening along with all the models in the current Joe Fresh commercial including top model Irina Lazareanu. The night was filled with chit chat, laughter, shopping, bubbly and guests danced into the night to the sounds of DJ Mia Moretti and violinist Caitlin Moe.

I was super impressed with the fashionably well-priced items. I spent about $150 and it got me 2 pairs of cozy joggers, a silk blouse, belt, a pair of washed cotton cargos and 2 t-shirts. That’s the type of shopping I like, interchangeable separates at a price. They have been really good at replenishing their stock but it will be pretty hectic over the next few days so expect some line ups at the cash desk.
