Food Awareness

I wanted to start off the year 2011 with a better understanding of the foods I put into my body. I’ve always been a relatively healthy person but I have been blessed with genes that have allowed me to eat whatever I wanted. I also started to cook more last year and am beginning to learn more about what foods work together and most importantly what foods work best for my body in order for it to function at it’s best.

I decided to go in for food sensitivity testing and spoke with Registered Holistic Nutritionist, Jennifer Trecartin. She uses a bio-energetic food testing method that is non-invasive, safe and pain free to help with determining the imbalances of the body. One food item at a time, Jennifer measured the electrical conductivity between the foods and my body by touching on acupuncture points on my hand with a hand-held stylus.

I came out of the one hour session more informed and now I can tackle food choices with a clearer indication  of what is “bad” for me and what is “beneficial” for my body. In summary, my surprises are the following:

I should not be consuming: Dairy, corn, tomatoes, potatoes, melons, shrimp, eggplant, strawberries and beef is a stresser for me, (just to name a few).

If you would like to learn more about the technology visit www.biomeridian.com  and if you are curious about food sensitivity testing you should contact Jennifer at the Acupoint Wellness Centre for more information.
