The Room at The Bay’s Granville Street, Vancouver location is finally open. They have taken the bull by it’s horns and is attempting to capture a share of the critical and finicky luxury market. The small percentage of people who can actually afford these pieces, crave and demand exclusivity. The end goal of “The Room” is to do just that - Provide exclusive collections, one of kind fashion and top notch service.
There’s a lot of pretty things to see in the 23,000-square-foot space on the second floor of The Bay. All on one floor you can peruse through Thakoon, Jason Wu, Azzedine Alaia, Masion Martin Margiela, Proenza Schouler and shoe designers Brian Atwood, Charlotte Olympia and Nicholas Kirkwood. At The Room launch soiree recently, I swooned over the beautiful floral like patterns on Erdem’s 9 piece exclusive collection. Like a kid in a candy store, it was over stimulating.
The floor plan is spacious, allowing shoppers to admire the goods with ease. One of the shopping perks is the Platinum Lounge (which is probably larger than my apartment) where shoppers can sit back, take a break and have a drink while enjoying the shopping experience at their own pace.
I think I know how I’ll be spending my Sunday afternoons.
