Took a jaunt over to Seattle for the weekend with my man for some RnR, shopping and food. I was excited to make it in time for the Nordstrom’s anniversary sale, but sadly to say, I didn’t find one thing.
So, we headed towards Capitol Hill, a densely populated, urban community close to the downtown core. I was on a mission: Find a pair of basic, black leather ankle boots to start my Fall/Winter wardrobe. We dropped into Totokaelo’s new location, a beautiful fashion, art and object store. (Don’t worry guys, Totokaelo men’s is in the works for 2013).

Totokaelo carry’s all sorts of brands: Jill Sander, Costume National, Isabel Marant, Rachel Comey and Rick Owens to name just a handful. I was in awe of their shoe wall, especially the sale

I love window shopping during the holidays because all the department stores go all out, trying to be the most creative and captivating as possible. During my most recent trip to New York I had to go visit the Saks Fifth Avenue window displays as I heard they were integrating 3D technology to their holiday plans. Saks Fifth’s flagship location decided to go with a “Snowflake and Bubble” theme and on display was commissioned designers that included Stella McCartney, Proenza Schouler, Nica Ricci, Rag and Bone, Marchesa and Alexander McQueen.

You can not forget about the children (and we all have a little kid inside each and everyone of us). The most adorable thing is the feature on the children’s book, “Who Makes Snow?” and the funny looking Yeti plush toy. … more …
We woke up today to another gorgeous gorgeous day in New York…Walked out the hotel with just a light sweater and scarf wrap. I had to take a photo of the building across from us, I wish we had more exteriors like this back home.

Today we sauntered over to the Soho and Nolita neighborhood. I felt like I had a part of Vancouver with me when I entered Aritzia’s new Soho shop located on the busy corner of Broadway and Spring. Lucky for me I was able to take advantage of some early Black Friday sales and I ran into a few familiar faces.

Around the corner at Spring and Crosby I followed the extra loud music to C.Wonder, (they even had dancing staff at the front entrance). C.Wonder is … more …
It’s been abnormally warm during my late November trip to New York. The sun is shining bright and the air is crisp…feels more like late Spring than early winter.

My “can’t travel withouts”: Kiehl’s Deluxe Hand and Body lotion in Coriander scent, stackable gold rings, pearl earrings, SEE sunglasses and my trusty Kate Spade passport wallet and my passport of course.

The Ace Hotel: Nuzzled perfectly in the middle on 29th and Broadway. Always quirky, always hip and sometimes even too cool for me.

Eataly: Ok, I stepped into this food oasis and I didn’t want to leave. It is a foodies dream with specialized food stations to eat, they sell top of the line kitchen wares and you can get you’re groceries - all in one place. I am … more …
Just spent a few days for the first time in the “windy city”. I loved Chicago, the food was fabulous and I swooned over all the brown stone buildings in the Gold Coast. I’ll post more about my trip when I return but for now… Some images as of lately.

I can’t leave the house without my Marc by Mac Jacobs cross body, gold baubles and my Philosykos scent Diptyque scent.

I want to live permanently at the Public Boutique hotel in the Gold Coast.

A view from my hotel window.
love,
Sunny xo
