My girlfriends and I came across a little painting studio which offers BYOB Painting Classes for the budding artist within and the fact that you can enjoy a glass of wine whilst expressing your inner Picasso, just makes painting so much more fun!
Located in the heart of the Flatiron district, the Paint Along studio fits a class of about 12 people. When we went, they were mostly ladies, looking forward to learning a thing or two about canvases and acrylics. The Paint Along crew is friendly and super-helpful. The 2 hour class takes you step by step and shows you how to create lovely paintings fit to be displayed in any home! When you sign up online, you’re able to select what you’d like to paint. Well, technically not exactly on the beach but fairly close to water. Sea Monstr Sushi is a new joint that opened up in Gastown by Boneta partners Mark Brand and Alex Usow. Now you don’t have to go far to find some good quality sushi in the G-Town hood.
The space is an efficient 585 square foot with 2 small tables and stool seats at the back and bar seating along the front. No cocktails but they do serve up Sapporo beer on tap. It’s the perfect place to grab a quick bite, it’s not exactly a place to hang out for long periods of time - It’s eat, pay and go. Cash only by the way.
The name just kills me, it’s too darn cute for words. Try saying Sea Monstr Sushi fast … more …
I just started seriously cooking this year and I have become an addict. I am always on the hunt for deliciously simple recipes. I made this butternut squash recipe courtesy of Erin Ireland, the other night. As she promised, I became an instant fan the second I took a bite and it is 100% partlySunny approved. So here it is, so good that I had to share it with you.
Pre-heat up your oven at 400F. Cut your buttercup squash into quarters, lay them on a pan and then brush with olive oil and top with some minced ginger and garlic. Bake for about 35 minutes. While you wait, make the dip:
1/4 cup rice vinegar
2 tbsp miso paste (any kind will do)
2 gloves of minced garlic

The first free standing Joe Fresh retail store landed in Vancouver October 13, 2010. The design of the store is classically modern, simple and clean. It spans 14,000 square feet over 2 floors and is conveniently located in the centre of downtown shopping nestled in between Holt Renfrew, The Bay and H&M.
The entire first floor is dedicated to ladies with a very small section for men on the second floor along with active wear and sleep wear. Even though the menswear selection seemed to be more of an after thought, I was reassured by Joe staff that their intentions are to have a much fuller men’s section and maybe even kids in the near future.
I joined in on the festivities at their VIP opening party. It was a mixed room of … more …
It’s back again, the annual Creme de la Creme wedding showcase presented by CountDown Events, being held at the Four Seasons Hotel Vancouver on Saturday October 30, 2010. I attended last year and it was a day of opulence and girly fun, scoping out the cakes, oohing over wedding gowns and drooling over table settings.
This year they will be hosting the first ever Oscar de la Renta runway show, displaying dramatic show-stopping designs that will make any blushing bride’s heart melt. Oscar de la Renta’s exclusive wedding gowns will join Monique Lhuiller and Vera Wang at the Creme de la Creme Haute Couture Fashion Show. Make sure to check out www.cremedelacreme.ca for show times and event schedules.
For those of you lucky ladies that are planning your big day, I am offering 2 tickets … more …
