Sandy Chilewich does it again. I am a huge fan of her work. Chilewich does such an amazing job transforming industrial materials into stylish, affordable, hardworking textiles for tabletops, floors, mobile phone covers and now - Pet Mats!

Made in the signature basketweave design, these mats are great to go under those pesky pet food bowls; keeping your floors nice and clean. Just so that your four legged friend doesn't feel left out, there is also a doggy cut out in the center of the mat.

Available in USA and Canada on-line. www.chilewich.com

Have you had the chance to visit David's Tea on West 4th Avenue? If you haven't you must, especially if you are a tea connoisseur. This aromatic store lured me in and I fell in love with their pressed "Pu'erh" tea.

These little, precious nuggets are slightly oxidized green tea, pressed and interwoven with fragrant Chrysanthemum petals. The mix is perfect for your Spring season tea parties. 50 gram bag for $6.50.

Lovely to see the face of Jane Aldridge, blogger of Sea of Shoes, on Simone's Spring/Summer 2010 collection lookbook.

Simone's collection is a blend of metallic materials and animal prints...add some denim and ruffles to it too. I can not forget to mention the nautical stripes and corset lacing. I know it appears it's everything and the kitchen sink. But for some reason, like Jane Alderidge's style, no matter how it's pieced together, it just works.

Welcome to Polar, a new underground lounge that just opened its doors in New York underneath Gramercy's Marcel Hotel. A swanky ice den of sorts, you can sip on drinks like Operation Highjump (Reyka Icelandic Vodka, Frozen Grapes, White Grape Juice and Pear Eau de Vie) while sharing an appetizer like Truffle Egg Toast.

Tuck away by drawing down the curtains in a private VIP ice cave - decked with mirrors cozy couches, and plush pillows. Perfect for some not so private PDA.

Aside from opening one month late, the new Fairmont Pacific Rim hotel was worth the wait. Just walk into the lobby and feel the warmth and welcome of the West Coast. While heading towards the Olympic cauldron I took a detour at the hotel's cafe, Giovane.

Giovane is lively, sophisticated and it's a cafe +bakery + deli. It seats 42 people and you can go in for your coffee, tea and pastries as well they have a little back wall of unique gift wares. Bread and pastries are baked fresh every day and to satisfy your sultry side, the deli offers a selection of sandwiches, cheeses and pizzas. If I lived in the Coal Harbour area again, I'd be hanging out here.

Just walk into the lobby and feel the warmth and welcome of the West Coast. While heading towards the Olympic cauldron I took a detour at the hotel’s cafe, Giovane.

I thought I was done with this look, but I guess I should never say never because I am in love once again. One sure fire piece you'll need in your wardrobe this spring/summer 2010 is the military jacket.

You can go with a traditional boxy cut where the jacket is shaped more like a men's dress shirt or be a bit more feminine with a waisted drawstring. Long or short, make sure you have some deep pockets and a hood would be even more fantastic.

If you don't want to spend an arm and a leg, the Gap as a great version for around $80. Sorry to say, you're going to have to surrender yourself to the look. 10-4.

In the spirit of the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics and all things Canadian, I got my dog a cowichan sweater. The dog store down the street called Barking Babies, carries these wonderful hand knits that proudly have the emblem of the maple leaf on the back ($55.00 CAD).

To top it all off, you must add on a package of the "Olympic Ring" dog biscuits ($9.99 CAD). They come five in a pack and these maple flavored cookies with yogurt icing are made with human-grade ingredients with no preservatives!

Yes I am Canadian and so is my dog!
