I’ve been loving free flowing silk tops more and more nowadays. It’s unbelievable, I went from “tight” fitting tops in my 20’s to sporting “looser” fitting blouses in my 30’s. To be completely honest, I am finally getting use to the idea that loose can be sexy - Reality check, I don’t have the body I use to when I was 25.

I say you join me and swap out your tight tops and crisp button shirts for sexy silk button ups. My favourite right now is this chic semi-sheer “Raquel” blouse in black. It’s become my closet staple and I adore the button detail along the yoke of the back.

Seems like Sarah Jessica Parker has taken some time off her line of clothes to concentrate on something else. She is now the new chief creative officer of Halston. Under her guidance, the company has recently launched their diffusion line, “Halston Heritage” exclusively at The Bay.

Paying homage to the disco area, HH’s spring/summer 2010 line oozes with bold prints, halter jumpers, plunging v-necks and floor sweeping gowns. You’ll definitely be busting some wicked disco moves on the dance floor with these iconic looks. (By the way, most of these looks will be showing up in the new SATC movie launching this May 2010).

I do most of my shopping on-line as well has off people’s bodies. I will literally chase you down the street if I spot something on you that I want. In this case, I facebooked my next victim.

As I was going through a friend’s wedding pictures in NYC, I came across a girlfriend of her’s looking gorgeous in a wicked black jumper. I got the details right away and made my way to her on-line store, soni & cindy.

The sister team design duo are also the brains behind their own retail store, Suite Orchard. Their well received  Lower East Side boutique carries brands like Sonia by Sonia Rykiel, Rag&Bone, Alexander Wang, and Karen Walker.

Upon moving to New York for school, a classmate of mine recommended Uniqlo, the Japanese minimalist store when I eyed her fabulous skinny jeans. Their 1st US store is here in New York, right in the heart of SoHo. Coincidentally, our then brand management professor had just issued us a case study on them. Uniqlo’s concept is one of “unbranded” apparel, much like MUJI. Their apparel is minimalistic and a perfect place to shop for basics. It’s much like an Asian version of the Gap except the focus is on fun, simple & modern apparel. You’ll rarely see patterns but rather bright bold colors and classic pieces you’ll always wear, nothing too trendy or fashion forward. Take Stella McCartney and size it down for little people and you have the most adorable collection for Gap Kids. McCartney has taken some of her signature refined details and have applied them to a kids collection that will only be available at selected Gap stores.

You can get a pink tutu for that little ballerina in your life and funky high tops and pencil leg jeans for the little urbanite. Or perhaps a military inspired jacket to go with a pair of dark denim bell bottoms for the little trendsetter.

Each piece, no matter how over the top can be styled, mixed and matched with more casual items like t-shirts, grey sweatshirt hoodies and bloomers to create the ultimate outfit.
