John Charles at Nest Home

We’re moving at the end of the month and this means getting rid of old furniture and replacing it with new!

My boyfriend found the perfect sofa for our new place. Part of the John Charles Collection, it’s a modern shape with just a touch of orient flavor. The base is made of real wood…yes not the cheap MDF stuff and it comes with two small square yellow pillows.

John Charles award winning furniture can be found at Nest Home. You must walk by if you get the chance because they are having a really sweet sale. We got our sofa at 50% off, which by the way is still in the window display. So feel free to go by and take a look, but don’t touch! It’s SOLD!

Bye Bye Domino!

I was so upset when I hard the news on the decision to shut Domino Magazine. Just a few days ago, Condé Nast closed its short lived shelter Domino, a hip, fresh home and design magazine (that I loved very much).

Condé Nast’s top management gave no hint of the planned closure as it gathered all the Domino staff to announce the news. Domino is just one of many other magazines that have recently folded like: Country Living, Cottage Living, O at Home, Vogue Living and Country Home.

The magazine’s March issue will be its last. Its Web site will also be shut down. So if you happen to be a huge Domino fan like myself…be sure to go out there and support them one last time when the March … more …

The White Elephant In The Room

I am not even sure why I am so attracted to this piece of home decor. Perhaps it’s the smooth and bubbly curves on this ceramic beauty? Or perhaps it’s my fascination with elephants!

Either way I think this white ceramic elephant from West Elm is the perfect touch for an Indian and Moroccan inspired themed room. For $29 USD you can get in touch with nature and have an adorable “friend” in your room.

Oh and by the way, I forgot to mention that West Elm now has a Toronto location (and I am preying that we get one soon on the west coast!)

My Muse

I love everything about Jonathan Adler. When I walked into his San Francisco store, I was immediately transported into a happy go lucky world.

His designs are unique and his style is instantly recognizable, especially his bold lamps and vases. He has this amazing ability to fuse together organic shapes, geometric patterns and “out of the box” ideas, into one-of-a-kind works that can almost go with any type of decor.

His Muse Blanc porcelain vessel caught my eye! The scent is like soft fresh cut flowers and after it burns out, it becomes the perfect vessel for a posse of pretty posies.

Tweet Tweet

Birds I love are the little sparrows and chickadees in the spring time, they give off such life when they “tweet”.

Thanks to our dear friends at Ikea, I can now have my feathered friends in the house!

These antique inspired KALLT Decoration Birds are the perfect trim for your Christmas tree, you can perch them over your mantle, or even use them perhaps on a able setting and clip them to your napkins holders.

They are available at your nearest local Ikea store for $5.99 for a pack of 4.
