Alright, so the last time I wore a pair of colored jeans I was probably 15 years old and they are back in full force for summer! This is one trend I am thrilled to see return as I think there is never any harm with a bit of boldness in our lives. Easily paired with blouses, t-shirts and blazers, colored jeans are a fun and bold way to make a statement. Colored jeans are offered in several price ranges but I personally think since it is a fad, you should go in on lower price point. Here are a few brands to choose from:

J-Brand Yellow Jeans $175.00, www.shopbop.com

BDG Red Skinny’s $59.00, www.urbanoutfitters.com

Skinny Green Stretch $59.90, www.zara.com

I get back to New York every 4 - 6 months and every time I go back there’s always new store openings as well as one I completely missed out on during my last visit. There never seems to be enough time to see them all as once. So here are four stores you must drop into when you visit the next time:
Alexander Wang: 26 year old American designer Alexander Wang finally invades Soho, New York. He took up the old Yohji Yamamoto space at 103 Grand Street and it’s a sleek boutique featuring glossy marble, extremely high ceilings, a fox fur hammock and draped with lush exotic flowers. Wang designed an exclusive line of leather pieces for this location only. (Main Image)
Onassis: It’s starts with a perfectly crafted … more …
I recently spotted one of my contributors Kimberlee, sporting a new pair of sleek indigo leggings. As I got up closer for a look, I realized they were actually ultra light weight denim by Mavi jeans.
I immediately rushed over to one of their locations to try a pair on. They are extremely comfortable and fit like a glove. Literally like a thicker pair of leggings with a zipper and pockets! I loved them so much I bought them in both washes: Black and Dark Indigo.
$78 CDN, style SERENA at the Mavi Store.

Distressed and destroyed denim has been making a strong come back. Primarily because the 80’s rock looks are getting more attention.
Most people don’t understand why ‘ripped’ and distressed jeans are usually more expensive compared to your regular jeans. Having worked in the denim industry for 7 years, I can tell you the process in comparison is much lengthier.
Once the jeans have been washed thoroughly with pumice stones they are frayed, distressed and cut by hand. They get re-washed and then the holes and frays are reinforced to make sure they put. Then, they get washed again until the desired colour and hand (feel) is achieved. In addition to all the back and forth, some of these processes are done in different factories which adds to the process time. … more …
Just a little thank you from the GAP to their biggest fans.
Visit them anytime between August 28th to September 3rd, 2009 and get 40% of ONE REGULAR priced item in the store.
My suggestion is to go in and give their new vintage denim line a try, 1969 Vintage Premium Jeans. You get a lot of denim for your buck.
