I’ve been searching for a new scent for quite some time now. Byblos Paris is still my go to everyday scent, but I needed something new, fresh and not as recognizable. Well, today I think I found her. Balenciaga’s new scent that was released early this year. It’s the first perfume release since “Cristobal” in 1998 and the first for head designer Nicolas Ghesquiere.
It’s a light sweet scent with a hint of floral but not romantic. It definitely has urban nuances to it and after sometime, the woody elements of the perfume begin to reveal itself. The campaign was shot by famous fashion photographer Steve Meisel and singer/actress Charlotte Gainsbourg was chosen to be the face of Balenciaga Paris perfume.

Coco Chanel is one of the most iconic figures in fashion and she’s going to be brought back to life in an Anne Fontaine directed film, Coco Avant Chanel. The beautiful Audrey Tautou from “Amelie” will play Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel on the rise.
The biopic focuses on her life in the years before Coco became Chanel; the people and experiences that shaped her outlook and aesthetic. The film will be adorned with original vintage Chanel dresses as well, Karl Lagerfeld will be supervising the re-creation of costumes and accessories for the production.
The 12 week production finally started filming on Sept. 15 in Paris and is slated to be released in late 2009. I’ll be sure to keep you posted on any new updates. I simply can not wait!
