Who moved my shoe? Yes, this is a spin-off title of one of the most famous books on “work change”, called “Who Moved My Cheese?” by Spencer Johnson. Just months ago, my company acquired a new CEO and with new leadership comes a lot of CHANGE. The company has gone through a massive organizational re-structure and is in the process of a business strategy and re-branding transformation. It’s been an incredible journey thus far and I’ve learned so much about myself and my colleagues in the process. It’s been quite the learning curve for everyone in the organization. Things I’ve Learned Along the Way

I can’t turn back time but I do often reflect on the past. I mean, it is what I do for a living…I analyze history, couple it with current research and make a conclusion for the future. I know it sounds cliche, but in life (as well as in buying) I learn mostly from my mistakes, not from my successes. Everyone has their own learning curve and everyone blossoms at different times and at different rates. Don’t get frustrated and stop comparing yourself to everyone else. You’ll get to where you should be eventually.

If you are born to shop, have a keen eye and killer instinct for trends and you have the ability to figure out what people want, then perhaps a role as a FASHION BUYER may be a great place to start. I must warn you, it’s not as easy has it looks, you need an analytical mind, a good understanding of retail math and be able to take harsh criticism most of the time.
