Next Generation Designer: Marco Corso

Autumn fashion, how do I love thee? When I start to smell crisp air I start thinking of layering. Milan-based fashion designer, Marco Corso’s A/W 2010/11 collection displays this the best.

He uses a soft palette with a beautiful blend of textiles and textures. Every single piece is cut and sewn expertly and each separate can be worn with each other.

Mono Capsule Collection: Flight

If you ever dreamed about taking light, floating in the air like a hot air balloon or perhaps drifting away like a kite, I think you would deeply appreciate the mono clothing “flight” capsule collection. Every piece is designed with airy movements in mind and made with top quality knits and jerseys.

Come August 5 2010, the first edition of the mono nomadic shop will open in Vancouver called the MONOSHOP: PROVISIONAL and the space will feature the FLIGHT 2.0 collection along with several installations and 2 film works. It will stay open until September 11, 2010 and the space will then be overhauled and transformed into a showroom space that will showcase the next series, EQUILIBRIUM.

Sexy Silks

I’ve been loving free flowing silk tops more and more nowadays. It’s unbelievable, I went from “tight” fitting tops in my 20’s to sporting “looser” fitting blouses in my 30’s. To be completely honest, I am finally getting use to the idea that loose can be sexy - Reality check, I don’t have the body I use to when I was 25.

I say you join me and swap out your tight tops and crisp button shirts for sexy silk button ups. My favourite right now is this chic semi-sheer “Raquel” blouse in black. It’s become my closet staple and I adore the button detail along the yoke of the back.

How I like to wear it: With a pair of skinny pants and platform heels or tucked into a … more …

Boys in Motion

I found this really neat site and I had to share. New York menswear designer Patrik Ervell launched the coolest on-line shopping site. One of the major reasons why I enjoy on-line shopping so much is because I am able to view snapshots of collections at such a fast rate and in it’s entirety.

Ervell has just made the shopping experience that much more fun by bringing his lovely gent to life. He shows his pastel spring/summer 2010 collection with a dashing virtual model that moves and fidgets with his clothes. You actually get to see how the clothing moves and fits on the body.

This e-commerce site is must see. www.patrikervell.com
