Christmas 2010 in Vancouver, BC is not a white one nor is it a cold one. Instead of investing in a new winter coat this year, I bought a new rain coat instead. My “Olivia” coat by Lily and Jae provides me with enough coverage for those days when I get caught in the rain.
It’s made with 100% British Millerain naturally waxed cotton and the hood is nice and big. It’s tent-like shape makes it easy to throw it over your layers while giving you room to move.

The first free standing Joe Fresh retail store landed in Vancouver October 13, 2010. The design of the store is classically modern, simple and clean. It spans 14,000 square feet over 2 floors and is conveniently located in the centre of downtown shopping nestled in between Holt Renfrew, The Bay and H&M.
The entire first floor is dedicated to ladies with a very small section for men on the second floor along with active wear and sleep wear. Even though the menswear selection seemed to be more of an after thought, I was reassured by Joe staff that their intentions are to have a much fuller men’s section and maybe even kids in the near future.
I joined in on the festivities at their VIP opening party. It was a mixed room of … more …
Carrie Bradshaw brought back all the glitz and glitter in Sex and the City 2, sporting her gold glitter Christian Louboutin pumps with her Halston Jersey Cocktail Dress. Since then, all of Hollywood continued on with the trend, pairing up what I call “glitter ball” shoes with their evening and day attire.
If you don’t want to break the bank or bankrupt your wallet, you can get the glitter ball look for $89.95 at Joneve Shoes! This classic sling back, peep toe silhouette fits like a glove, look damn sexy on the foot and they will spice up any outfit for your special evening.
Sure doesn’t hurt to have some glitter in your life.

The other night I attended a shopping event held at Obakki in conjunction with Fashion Magazine. For this one night they offered discounts on their new Fall 2010 collection pieces as will as steep discounts on their Spring 2010 collection. I was one lucky girl to have walked away with a gorgeous petal sleeve silk blouse for 75% off the regular tagged price.
That evening Rebecca Tay, Western Editor of Fashion Magazine also took the time out to review Fall/Winter 2010 trends with the eager crowd. Here is a summary of main points mentioned as well as what I saw at the store:
- Pants are worn loose and made perhaps in much softer materials like silk and micro-suede.
- Blouses are still leaning towards drapy and more “roomier” fits.
Autumn fashion, how do I love thee? When I start to smell crisp air I start thinking of layering. Milan-based fashion designer, Marco Corso’s A/W 2010/11 collection displays this the best.
He uses a soft palette with a beautiful blend of textiles and textures. Every single piece is cut and sewn expertly and each separate can be worn with each other.
