I know spring is around the corner when two things happen: 1. My allergies act up (as I am sitting here nursing a sinus infection) and 2. I start to hear the birds chirping very early in the morning. Aside from all that, I truly love the spring season. It’s one of my most favorite seasons next to autumn and I adore the fashions that go along with them. When I imagine spring I think of flowy, unstructured pieces, the use of natural textiles and over-sized comfortability. One of my first stops to preview spring 2012 collections is at JNBY Canada. The air is getting crisper and Fall.Winter 2011 has officially arrived. There are so many great trends this fall but I am going to highlight some of my favourites:
Suedes - For the fall you say? Traditionally people in Canada have a preconceived notion that suedes are hard to keep and typically steer clear. But I am happy to say, you’re not going to be able to avoid it this Fall 2011. Suede is a strong material interest being used in all categories, casual flats, platform heels and boots.What I appreciate most about suede is the texture and the richness of the colors. Protect them well with a leather spray and brush them frequently with a suede brush and you’re good to go in wet weather.

Alright, so the last time I wore a pair of colored jeans I was probably 15 years old and they are back in full force for summer! This is one trend I am thrilled to see return as I think there is never any harm with a bit of boldness in our lives. Easily paired with blouses, t-shirts and blazers, colored jeans are a fun and bold way to make a statement.
